MEET THE TEAM
Brooke Moss (@brookecmoss) – Founder and Owner, Dance Labs
Brooke is originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her dance experience includes training at Springs City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, Ballet West Conservatory, The University of Utah, and Brigham Young University (BYU). She has danced with Utah Ballet and BYU’s Theatre Ballet. She is also a former member of the multi-time National Champion BYU Cougarettes.
Brooke received a B.A. in Marketing Communications with minors in Business and English, and an M.A. in Mass Communications from Brigham Young University. She provided marketing services for big corporations like Ancestry and AlphaGraphics, Inc.
Brooke has a love for dance entrepreneurship. As a co-owner of Precision Dance Camps, for more than a decade Brooke helped bring quality dance camps and workshops to dance/drill teams, and dance studios across the United States. Through Dance Labs, Brooke’s goal is to empower dancers and dance teachers of all skill levels to master the confidence and skills needed to excel in their dance training and teaching. She is married with three small children.
Kayla Bagshaw (@kay.bagshaw) - Instructor
Kayla Bagshaw, originally from Centerville, Utah began her training at The Turning Place and Dance Impressions. She trained extensively in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip-hop. Throughout her time as a competition dancer, she received numerous performing awards/scholarships and 1 st place solo awards. In high school, she was a member of her drill team where she served as Dance Captain and represented her school as Dance Sterling Scholar. She was crowned Miss Drill International in 2011 + Miss Drill Utah in 2012.
Kayla was a 4-year member of the multi-national champion Brigham Young University (BYU) Cougarettes where she served as Dance Captain for three years. During her time on Cougarettes, she choreographed several half-time and competition routines, and concert pieces. She was also a 4-year member of National Dance Alliance’s (NDA) All American Dance Team.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Performance. After graduation, Kayla joined Divinity Dance Company, a professional contemporary dance company, and is in her fifth season dancing with them. Kayla also helped open a new dance studio called Project Move in Centerville, Utah. She currently teaches all ages, levels and styles at Project Move 5 – 6 days a week. She also travels all over the United States teaching technique workshops and choreographing for studios, dance companies and drill teams. Her choreography has received numerous recognition awards including Best Choreography and Judges Choice. Kayla is also the assistant coach for the Viewmont Vykelles Drill Team. Kayla has worked for Precision Dance Camps (PDC) for eight years as an instructor and choreographer. Kayla is currently helping grow Dance Labs and is eager to share her passion for dance with those who share the same love for this beautiful art form.
Joelle Banford (@joellebanford) – Instructor
Joelle Banford, originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, trained as a young dancer under the direction of Penny Broussard at The Winner School. A member and captain of her high school drill team for 3 years, she was awarded dance and academic scholarships in college. Joelle received her Bachelor’s Degree from Utah Valley University. Early in her career, she traveled with USA (United Spirit Association), teaching dance teams and leadership camps throughout the United States.
While assisting Monica Campbell in teaching “Diavolo Dance Company Techniques” to University students, Joelle developed a talent for choreographing, with a focus on sets and structures. Her choreography has since received top awards at numerous local and national competitions, including “Top Convention,” “Best Direction,” “Best Choreography,” and “People’s Choice”.
Under the direction of Shannon Mortensen, Joelle helped lead the Copper Hills Drill Team to win several consecutive Utah State titles. She has also taught technique workshops and choreographed for the multi-time National Champion Brigham Young University Cougarettes’ 70th anniversary concert. She is currently providing specialty technique instruction to the World and National Champion Utah Valley Dance Team, and is the competition director at Synergy Academy in Utah.
Throughout her nearly two decades of teaching dancers of all ages at studios, schools and universities, Joelle has demonstrated her passion for developing the “whole” dancer. Her specialized technique classes not only focus on proper turn and leap technique, but also building deeper body awareness and powerful mind/body connections.
Cicily Oldham (@cicilyoldham) – Instructor
Cicily Oldham began her dance training in Orem, Utah at The Dance Club, where she became proficient in jazz, hip-hop, ballet and pointe. Cicily went on to become a 4-year member of the multi-time National Champion BYU Cougarettes in college, where she served as dance captain for 2 years and choreographed for the team.
Her extensive dance experience includes performances for the Utah Jazz, San Francisco 49ers, and the Big Red Boat Cruiseline. Cicily also played a significant role in the atmosphere entertainment during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
She has served as a dance teacher and choreographer throughout the Western United States for the past 22 years. As drill team coach for the Bingham High “Minerettes”, Cicily led her team to win the state title three times. She also traveled as an instructor for Summer Slam Dance Camps, and is currently Director of the Pre-Professional Conservatory Program at Utah Dance Artists. Instilling discipline, focus, and precision is Cicily’s recipe for helping her students achieve their dance goals.
Nicole Quesenberry (@nicoleqberry) – Instructor
Nicole Quesenberry specializes in a variety of dance styles, including jazz, hip-hop, ballet, pom, lyrical, tap, tumbling, military, and ballroom. Originally from Lindon, Utah, she trained at The Dance Club and Studio 1.
In high school, Nicole was a member of Pleasant Grove High School’s drill team and captain her senior year. She received a variety of awards early in her career, including: Top Core Finalist for Basic Dance Training two years in a row, Dance Sterling Scholar, and numerous scholarships from dance conventions.
Nicole was a member of the multi-time National Champion BYU Cougarettes for four years, and dance captain for two. She has 3 nationals titles from her time at BYU, and earned a silver medal at the World’s competition for hip hop. Now a fourth-year instructor with Precision Dance Camps and head coach of Pleasant Grove High School’s drill team, Nicole continues to share her love of dance through teaching. Her hard work ethic, dedication, and impressive choreography and technique inspire continual improvement in her dance students.
Jennica McClure (@jennicamcclure) – Instructor
Jennica hails from Holladay, Utah, and grew up loving dance. She trained on The Winner School’s pre-professional program, and danced with her high school drill team for four years.
After high school, Jennica attended Brigham Young University and was a member of the multi-time National Champion BYU Cougarettes. Jennica danced with the Cougarettes for 4 years, won 6 national titles, and graduated with a degree in Exercise and Wellness.
Now a nationally-certified personal trainer, Jennica loves applying her in-depth knowledge of nutrition, training and anatomy to push her dancers to their limits. She’s served as dance director at local studios such as Center Stage Performing Arts, and is currently teaching dance at Aspire Creative Arts Group. Always focused on refining her craft, Jennica still dances professionally with Junction Dance Company. She finds joy in helping dancers of all experience levels build confidence and expertise by polishing their technique.
Morgan St. Pierre (@morganstpierre1) - Instructor
Morgan St. Pierre has been dancing for the past 20 years and teaching for the last 18. As a dancer, Morgan performed at the Daytime Emmy Awards and was a four-year member of the BYU Cougarettes. She also performed with the Cougarettes throughout the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. Professionally, Morgan is teaching and choreographing for studios and dance teams throughout Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Hawaii. She has won several choreography, costuming, and performance awards associated with her work, locally, nationally, and internationally.
For seven years, Morgan held the head coaching position for the 7-time State Champion and National Champion Bingham Minerette Drill Team. Morgan is also the former Assistant Director for the BYU Cougarettes, 2010-2012. She taught technique and choreographed for this 19-time Collegiate National Champion team. She has also worked with the nationally acclaimed UVU Dance Team, Boise State Dance Team, and Weber State Dance Team. Morgan was the competitive director at Hi-Light Dance Academy in Alpine, Utah, for 13 years. Currently, Morgan is a Co-director for the 19-time National Champion (BYU) Brigham Young University Cougarettes. Most importantly, Morgan has two daughters (Tatum and Bo), a son (Jace), and an awesome husband (Steve).
Autumn Hewlett (@autumnhewlett) - Instructor
Autumn Hewlett is a nationally recognized dance educator and choreographer. She received most of her dance training from Hi-Light Dance Academy and has been trained in a large variety of dance genres including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and ballroom. In high school, she won many regional and national solo dance awards, including Miss Dance/Drill Utah 2008. Autumn had the opportunity to dance with LA Dance Magic Company, traveling with them throughout the country. There, she worked consistently with nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Jackie Sleight, Dave Carter, and Christian Vincent. Autumn went on to dance with the 19-time National Champion BYU Cougarettes. She was privileged to end her 4-year experience with a world tour of Prague where they took class from teachers from all over the world and received the Grand Prix Award, making them International Grand Champions. As a four-year member, she served as Dance Captain, as well as contributing choreography for the team. Autumn began her teaching career following college and has a passion for teaching jazz technique to all ages. With her strong ballet background, her emphasis in teaching is in technique, although she loves creating choreography for any style. Along with guest teaching at various studios throughout Utah, she has been able to choreograph for many high school and college dance teams and studios around the country. Autumn is currently a company director at her mother’s studio Hi-Light Dance Academy, and she hopes to continue to inspire dancers of all ages on their dance journey as she furthers her career.
McKenna Lynch (@mckennawlynch) - Instructor
McKenna Lynch grew up immersed in her family-owned dance studio in Vernal, Utah. She teaches all styles of dance, including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip-Hop. She specializes in Acro, dance tricks and flexibility training. Her unique talent for incorporating Acro and contortion training into the dance world has made a big impact!
She also grew up in theater, performing in over thirty productions. She has worked as head choreographer for Windstorm Theater, an off-broadway theater company. McKenna frequently serves as guest choreographer at masterclasses, workshops, and conventions throughout the US, and has been awarded many prestigious choreography awards and National titles. Her training in slating, monologues, and audition techniques enables her to help students with acting auditions and interviews, many of which have been booked for Disney and commercials.
McKenna has held many titles, including First Attendant to Miss Utah 2011, where she won the preliminary talent award. She also represented Utah at the National Sweetheart Pageant, placing in the Top Ten. She now judges, emcees, and choreographs for many pageants in the Miss America program. Competing in pageants has shaped McKenna into the person she is today. She is a motivational keynote speaker and travels to speak to youth about confidence and self-worth. She loves working with young girls, and her goal is for them to see their own potential and the amazing women that they can become.
Jordan Williams - @airjordandance
Jordan Williams' lifelong passion for dance has been nurtured through diverse training in jazz, lyrical, ballroom, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, and tap. As a former member and officer of the Riverton Dance Company, she earned dance and academic scholarships while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a minor in modern dance from the University of Utah. During her college years, she demonstrated versatility by joining the ballroom teams at both Utah Valley University and the University of Utah, as well as the hip hop company at UVU. Notably, she co-founded and served as president of the Hip Hop Company at the University of Utah for three years.
Jordan's teaching career at Synergy Academy in South Jordan, Utah, is complemented by her role as a choreographer, recognized with awards such as Best Choreography, Best Direction, Most Entertaining, and numerous overall awards.
Over the past seven years, she has focused on developing a specialized technique program to enhance jumps and leaps through height training and flexibility. Jordan’s passion, expertise, and innovative approach continue to inspire and elevate dancers of all levels.
